A Busy December part I
December rolls on and we at Travel+ have no time off until the New Year.
At the beginning of the month we had our first ever independent traveler/customer, Jason.
Dave took him on a half day shoot and Jason was kind enough to write the following review:
“Kudos to Dave for organizing such a great photoshoot session.
Upon first contact via mail, and understanding of Dave’s unique photographic philosophy, I was quite relieved that there is finally a photographer who understands my preferences of a personal part tour part photo shoot in peculiar locations.
I had indicated a backdrop preference of quirky cafés, back alleyways with possibly graffiti art, and off-beat historic buildings with a tinge of nostalgic / colonial feel.
And Dave upped the ante by conducting a pre-shoot recce of possible sites in HCM and came up with a 4 hrs customized photoshoot itinerary.
Given that it was my first backpacking trip in Vietnam and also a first for a personal photo shoot, Dave was kind enough to arrange for a short discussion session at Decibel cafe prior to the actual shoot to familiarize each other with our ideas and possible visual angles.
The actual day of photo shoot went pretty well, with a visit to the iconic Notre Dam cathedral and central post office, and moving on to a historic French colonial style building with quaint cafés and nostalgic alleyways, before ending with graffiti art filled walls in the midst of the Japanese town.
All in all, it was a great and well planned photo shoot session. Apart from the photos (tons of it by the way!), I also managed to pick up nuances of local history and life from Dave’s personal repertoire of experiences and knowledge.
So thanks and keep up with the great work!”
Here are some shots from the morning:
Many thanks to Jason for the write-up!
